Teaching
I've worked as a teacher for over 15 years. I started teaching while I was an undergraduate at Yale University, when I founded and directed Hot Shots, a photography and media literacy program serving children in Connecticut housing projects.
Since then I've developed and taught in educational programs for at-risk immigrant, minority, and low-income youth in public schools, community and residential centers, academic enrichment programs, and detention facilities. I've also taught accredited university-level courses in creative writing.
This section contains my collaborative work with students, as well as work by students in some of the classes I've taught.
