    This summer I started a training program for Bay Area immigrant student organizers. These compassionate young warriors have started their own website to inspire, inform, and embolden their organizing work: S4FC.org. Listen to what they're talking about today.

    The |http://www.siliconvalleycf.org/donor-circle-for-the-arts.html|Donor Circle for the Arts at Silicon Valley Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications from artists and arts organizations from San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.   • 4/12/09: GOOD MORNING AMERICA!

    This morning several of my E4FC students were profiled in a feature story on ABC News Good Morning America. The story -- called Students in the Shadows -- shows the tremendous financial challenges faced by undocumented immigrant students trying to graduate from college in the US. These students were so brave to share their stories, despite the significant risks to them and their families. Won't you take a few minutes to watch this short piece?

    "This Place Called Poetry" has moved from the gallery to the street! Images from the exhibition are now featured in a poster series along Market Street. Check them out in person, or on WritersCorps' Flickr site.

  • 11/7/08-1/24/09: THIS PLACE CALLED POETRY

    Kjell Nordeson and I are the lead artists of This Place Called Poetry, an exhibition of art and short films profiling 11 fabulous youth poets in San Francisco.

    The exhibition's on view at the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery from November 7th to January 24th. Make sure to check out the Main Gallery (401 Van Ness) and the Storefront Installation (155 Grove), both on Civic Center Plaza.

    DON'T STOP ME NOW is part of Shifting Dreams, Migrating Realities: A visual dialogue about the complexities related to migration and immigration at MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana). The exhibit runs November 30, 2007 - January 19, 2008. I'll be part of an Artists' Talk on Wednesday, January 16th at 6:30 PM. MACLA is located at 510 S. First Street, San Jose, CA 95113.
